The remnants of Comet C/2025 F2 (SWAN)?

About this image

This image may show the remnants of disintegrated comet C/2025 F2 (SWAN). If it had survived it could have been around magnitude 6 now. In fact it is a very faint patch. This image was taken when the comet was around 8 deg up in the NW and the Sun was around 11 deg below the horizon. The sky was very bright and there was quite a bit of low cirrus. The inset shows the ephemeris position based on astrometry obtained before the comet disintegrated. It looks as if there is a faint blob of material where the comet should be but the image is very noisy.
