About this image

Silver Nugget Cluster (NGC 6441) is a globular cluster in Scorpius, discovered by the Scottish astronomer James Dunlop in 1826, about 20″ in diameter. The cluster is located only 5 arc minutes from G Scorpii (3.15), which makes it probably the closest globular cluster to a relatively bright star as observed by us.

G Scorpii is also called Fuyue (Fu Yue in Chinese), named after a former slave that became a high-ranking minister to Shang dynasty ruler Wu Ding. The star used to be known as Gamma Telescopii before it was moved to Scorpius. Nice story for a beautiful couple.
