Abell 2199 Galaxy Cluster

About this image

4 hours of 60 second subs using LRGB filters has produced this image of one of the largest galaxy clusters visible to amateur telescopes. There are allegedly 300 or so galaxies in this cluster but I think that there are fewer visible in this image. The brightest galaxy is NGC 6166, towards the centre of the image, which is an interesting super galaxy containing smaller galaxies within its width. Two of these smaller galaxy galactic cores are visible when you zoom in on NGC 6166.
