North America Nebula and friends

About this image

North America Nebula (left hand side, including the Great wall in Cygnus lower centre) and its friends the Pelican Nebula (Top middle) and the Forsaken Nebula (right hand side). Showing that all three objects are clearly connected behind the dark cloud of gas and dust (LDN 935 also Barnard 152) in the foreground. The emission line region in the background must be one Stromgren Sphere, similar to Rosette Nebula, ionised by a cluster of bright hot young stars recently formed/forming in the centre. This image was taken over 6 consecutive nights due to this amazing weather we've been having and shows that it is still possible to do deep sky astrophotography from Southern UK (Lat 50.4 degrees) even as we approach the Summer Solstice, 1 month away. SHO narrowband image (Red = Sulphur II, Green = Hydrogen Alpha, Blue = Oxygen III). Wishing you all dark clear skies.
