About this image

This newly-discovered comet was announced on CBET 5557. It was detected by ATLAS at Rio Hurtado, Chile on May 24 and appeared on the NEOCP as A11nyuL. The comet is currently around 18th magnitude. This image was taken using the Alnitak telescope in Spain and it shows a faint tail to the west. The comet will come to perihelion on October 8 at a solar distance of 0.34 au and it might brighten to be a binocular object.
