Lo Tr5 In Comae Berenices Planetary Nebula

About this image

I wanted to see if it was possible for my telescope to capture this faint planetary nebula.  64 x 240 second exposures were taken from my back garden using the Optolong L-eXtreme filter.  I could not see any sign of the nebula in the individual frames, so I just hoped I was imaging the correct location!  I managed to process the stacked image in PixInsight and after many stretches using GHS, I was able to see the faint nebula, although only just! I initially used GraXpert to remove the background gradient, however, I realised this actually removed the majority of the Nebula!  Therefore no background extraction was performed until after I had stretched the image.  Although I had to over process this image in order to see the faint nebula, I noticed that is was the Deep Sky Section's May 'Object of Interest'. So I decided to upload it despite the poor quality. :)
