Hi Michael,

Can you explain a bit about what we are seeing here? Is this at D3 5876A ? This line does not appear in the Solar photospheric spectrum so how do you find the right wavelength?  Is this image a direct measurement at this wavelength or has an image of the adjacent continuum been subtracted ?

Thanks

Robin

Hi Robin,

Yes, this is D3 5876A. And yes, it is an indirect measurement by subtracting a nearby line (such as Fe 5884 or Sodium D1).

I use the softare JSol'Ex for my processing. I suggest you look at the YouTube video (with autotranslate subtitles to English) 'What's new in JSol'Ex 2.4?' by 'Cédric Champeau', who wrote JSol'Ex. Also worth watching 'Observation du Soleil dans le lumière de l'hélium' by 'Astro-Spectro'
