About this image

During the past week my south- and southeast-facing RMS video meteor cameras were hampered by variable sky transparency, often hazy with intermittent thin clouds and the bright Moon.

My west-facing RMS camera fared better. On the night of August 12/13 between 21:08 and 03:07 UT it recorded 78 meteors ranging from mag -3 to mag +2.8. The breakdown was:

1 August Draconid; 3 northern delta Aquariids; 62 Perseids; 1 southern delta Aquariid; 11 sporadics

My north-facing UFO Capture camera recorded 178 meteors, of which 148 were Perseids, and proportionately few minor shower meteors.
