About this image

An amazing target, with intense and active star formation and high density of young stars, protostars, and the surrounding gas and dust from which they are born.

The inset shows enlarged portion of an Orion-variable-type variable star (I believe) which exhibits irregular and eruptive variations in its luminosity and is typically associated with diffuse nebulae. Will dig in for old photos for the region to detect possible change in shape.
