About this image

This morning sky comet continues to brighten steadily and I got a total magnitude of 9.5 this morning despite the very bright Moon. It is on track to reach naked-eye brightness at the end of October when it will be in the evening sky. It does have a faint ion tail in PA 300 but that doesn't show up well on this image. Things will be much better when the Moon is closer to new in a week or so.
