About this image

A reprocess of the geostationary satellites passing through the Earth's shadow image.  Is the lighter patch in the centre of the shadow Gegenschein?  It's the right size in the right place but you can see the light pollution and banding I was fighting.  It is always good to be sceptical.

Interesting, but I doubt it. Much more likely to be inexact flat fielding or gradient correction of a vignetted image. I've never managed to convincingly image the gegenschein even from La Palma.
