About this image

As the summer night sky gives way to Autumn, our neighbourhood galaxies, M31 and M33, come into view.

M33 imaged on 22, 23 and 25 September 2025.  11hr20min (68x600s) exposures used from 14hr of subs recorded.

This is a work in progress with Ha data to be recorded when (if) the sky clears again.  However, even in RGB the Ha areas of star formation in M33 are clear with the giant NGC604 emission nebula revealing structure even with a 235mm aperture scope.

All pre-processing and processing carried out with PixInsight.
