About this image

A total of 9 hours of integration over 3 nights (8,9 Aug and 25 Sept) using Narrowband filters and rendered in the HSO pallette. IC5068 is called the Forsaken or Forgotten nebula is located in Cygnus near to its more famous neighbours (The North American and Pelican Nebula).

It received its name from being much overlooked by the brighter and more famous targets in this rich constellation. However I think that it is full of detail with the fine dust lanes contrasting with the brighter emission nebulosity and worthy of more attention!
