About this image

I managed to capture comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) successfully on the morning of 2025 October 5, despite the passing cloud and strong gusts of wind. The comet was not visible to the naked eye but I could see it using 8x40 binoculars. It appeared as a diffuse white blob and I couldn't see a tail. Imaging captured it much better and revealed the green colour, with a hint of a tail too. I tried various exposure times and a stack of 15 second shots gave the best results.

Steve - Good that you are making visual observations of this comet. You might like to try making a magnitude estimate using your binoculars. Details of how to do this are in the Comet Section Observing Guide.
