About this image

Amazingly there was a short break in the anticyclonic gloom this morning and I managed to get a few minutes on this comet as twilight arrived. This image shows the region close to the head. There is lots of activity in the inner coma with a number of apparent jets visible in the Larson-Sekanina filtered image. A bright, bifurcated ion tail in PA 350 overlays the much broader dust tail.
