About this image

At last, after a week of cloudy skies, I have clapped eyes on the 2025 A6. Seen visually 18:15-19:00 UT, only just visible to the unaided eye. Transparency 6.5/10. Visual estimate of magnitude was 3.5. Greenish colour to coma very obvious when imaged and suspected visually in 10x26 binoculars (anecdotally, I lack sensitivity in the green). Tail several degrees long in binoculars.

A beautiful sight, but thanks to Elon and friends, every photo I took this evening is blighted by satellite trails. Sad to think that this is the new normal.

Levels adjusted in a very ancient edition of Photoshop Elements.
