About this image

Orion’s Belt – 50 x 180s from Portsmouth

Captured the iconic Orion’s Belt using the Askar 180mm + ZWO 2600MC Pro combo under Bortle 7 skies, with an Optolong L-Pro filter to help cut through the glow.

Image details:

• Scope: Askar FMA180

• Camera: ZWO ASI 2600MC Pro (cooled)

• Filter: Optolong L-Pro

• Exposure: 50 x 180s (2.5 hrs)

• Stacked in Astro Pixel Processor

• Processed in PixInsight

This is part of a much bigger personal project — aiming to capture the entire Orion constellation in this level of detail. Fingers crossed the weather cooperates!
