This interesting mag. 11.5 planetary nebula is the Deep Sky Section's December 'Object of Interest'. It was discovered by William Herschel in November 1787. The central star is mag. 14.5 Wolf-Rayet star.

The irregular boundary and complex structure of the shell is well seen in this PIRATE image.
