Title

Quadrantid meteor in Ursa Major

About this image

I captured this nice Quadrantid meteor last night. It passed through Ursa Major (more in Canes Venatici really) at 00:15 UT. The twin stars Mizar and Alcor can be seen above left of the meteor. I caught it visually too and it was the best of the night. I estimated it at mag -4 and yellow in colour. It left a white train that lasted about 3 seconds. Quite impressive given the bright Moonlight!
