About this image

The first aurora alert came about 20:00 UT with a strength of 240 nT on the Aurora Watch magnetometer. This fell back to 190.0 nT at 21:00. I went out and had a look at 21:10 UT but there was no aurora showing. The alerts kept coming. At 22:00 UT the magnetometer was up to 310 nT and then 370 nT at 23.00. I went out again at 23:25 UT when this image was taken. From this point in time the display was declining but it could still be made out faintly at 23:52 UT.
