About this image

Here are my Jupiter observations from 14 March 2026. The seeing was variable, but I managed a reasonable sets of IR captures, followed by a set OSC captures before the seeing took a dive as I started to collect a second set of IR images.

Fortunately there was enough detail in the second IR set to combine with the earlier set for an IR enhanced IR-OSC image, which is shown sandwiched between the supporting IR images from each set. The IR enhancement applied was fairly gentle as the pure OSC image was quite good on its own, but I thought the improved detail worth the additional processing.

Of note, is that this is my first set of images almost fully processed in LuckyStackWorker (LSW) developed by Wilco Kasteleijn. The separate IR and OSC images were fully processed in LSW, but I needed to use WinJupos to derotate the two IR images together to match the OSC de-rotated time stamp, then use frequency separation in Affinity Photo to blend the high frequency IR details with the OSC, for the final enhanced IR-OSC image shown.
