About this image

Its taken a while to get the C14 on-sky and theres been some problems along the way, but I'm getting halfway decent pictures at last.

I took this over a couple of nights but on both the nebula was at less than 25 degrees altitude so, non-ideal conditions.

When I first tried imaging it in the mid 90s I was just glad if I could tell were the silhouette of the horsehead was. Back then the active area of the sensor was 2.44x3.44mm in size and just finding things with my 8" f4.3 Newt was an achievement. These days I look at it and think "Well could be more contrasty and the stars are a bit blobby", but the problems are very much in the first world problems domain...

Its not colour, but I like it this way.
