About this image

Happily, clear skies again presented themselves but on this occasion the moon would not rise until around 1am. I took the opportunity to collect some 5 minute sub-exposures on the Leo Triplet, to benefit from the darker skies. I then used these in combination with the best of my recent 2 minute sub-exposures to produce this image. After using PCC to ensure the correct colour profile, in later processing I increased the saturation a little to highlight the dramatic detail visible in each of the three galaxies.
