About this image

Plasma eruption the result of an X2.52 Solar flare which occurred at 08:10UTC, there was a large plasma eruption reaching approximately 250,000Km high which subsequently fell back onto the surface and is captured in the attached animation. The animation covers the period from 08:48 UTC to 09:48 UTC. Unfortunately the black stripe is a telephone wire in my field of view crossing in front of the Sun.
