Title

Seyfert's Sextet NGC6027 - Deep Sky Object of Interest for May

About this image

Seyfert's Sextet is the Object of Interest for May - BAA Deep Sky section.  I am really drawn to imaging unusual ARP and Hickson galaxies, so I decided to give this little group a try.  Despite imaging this with my 8" Meade, this little cluster of galaxies was really tiny in my FOV.  The image uploaded has been cropped significantly.

I was hoping to capture more detail on the little face-on spiral galaxy (NGC 6023d), but unfortunately it was not possible to resolve the spiral detail with my OTA.  In other images that I have seen, this little spiral galaxy really stands out against the fuzziness of the others. This is rather surprising as NGC 6023d is actually much further away than the others, ~ 877 million light-years away, compared to only ~190 million light-years for the rest!
