About this image

Over the past couple of years, I have been collecting a series of astrophotography books by Gary Imm, they cover several well known catalogues and are excellent for finding new targets to image.  I selected M109 from Gary's book on the Messier catalogue.  I really like the fuzziness of the central bar of this galaxy amongst the contrasting spiral arms.
