Tulip Nebula NB

About this image

4 hours exposure overnight using narrowband filters and rendered in a modified SHO pallette.

As well as the Tulip nebula I was quite surprised by how much nebulosity is seen in the surrounding area. Also worthy of note is the blue arc to the left middle of the picture which I didn't know about. Apparently this is the bow shockwave generated by a relativistic jet originating from the black hole Cygnus X-1 which is feeding from its companion super giant star HD 226868.
