About this image

Long waits for the clouds to clear were rewarded with intermittent fine views of this bright pairing. Impressive to the naked-eye and in 10x50 binoculars, and in my venerable Edmund Astroscan.

This image is one of a series I took through the Astroscan by handheld afocal projection - using a high ISO and very short exposure whilst shakily holding my smartphone over the 15mm eyepiece. No processing applied, only rotated and cropped.
