About this image

2025-26 season started just after solar conjunction on September 11, 2025 and ended on June 23, 2026 with the Sun approaching Cancer.  An interesting nine months, with flare activity showing throughout the light curve, along with dips of varying depth.  As observations petered out in mid-June, OJ was definitely on a downward trend.  At the time of posting this light curve, the project MOMO (Max Planck Institute) predicted disc event has not materialised!

I’ve really enjoyed following the ups and downs of this fascinating object in recent times.
