About this image

This large asteroid makes a relatively close approach to the Earth on June 27. I've not been able to observe on the last few nights but managed to get around 30 mins of clearish skies on Friday before thunderstorms arrived. The outdoor temperature at the time I took these images was a ridiculous 26C. Field of view is 45 x 30 arcmin, N up. The unfiltered magnitude of the object was 10.2.

Nick,

Here in the Shire I was doing my video astrometry at local midnight in a relatively cool 20 C.

Alex.
