About this image

Captured in late April, I remember thinking this was the last deep-sky object I could observe before the skies got too bright. 

I later discovered that the galaxy contains a Luminous Blue Variable star, AT 2016blu, that is referred to as a supernova impostor. It last flared in March 2026 and can be seen as a tiny, bright star in a region of nebulosity to the right of the galaxy, just below its centre.
