About this image

Another excellent object of the month from Callum. Thank you.

This is the first outing of my new mono setup on the RC10. The x0.75 reduction seems to suit this camera well. The challenge was to reduce the exposure time to minimise saturation of the stars, especially the mag 11 orange star below the nebula. A surprise was the brightness of the nebula, which showed up so well through the red filter that any H-alpha data added nothing to the image.

The image is a 100% crop from the original.
