About this image

A nice, relatively cloud free, period between 04:00 and 05:00 edt this morning.

Saturn was up to a respectable 46 degrees in altitude.  Titan is out of frame today.  I am still getting a little atmospheric dispersion going on, blue tinge on top, red tinge on bottom.  Hopefully in a few more weeks it will be high enough for those to go away.

This was the best 10% of 9K frames, each at 18ms.  The best run of 12, this was the last run in morning before it got too bright.. and that would affect the colour balance and contrast something wicked.

The cloud did in fact roll in around 05:00.  Guiding seems to be getting worse.. I was having to correct several times in each 180 second run.  This was my 27th imaging session of 2026.
