This advice for drivers was on US TV a couple of days before the total solar eclipse of 2024 April 8.

Item 4 made me smile. :-)

Seriously though, if you're in the track of the total eclipse on August 12 and wear sunglasses or photochromatic lenses be ready to take them off for totality. (Or put your reactive lenses in a dark bag until totality?)

I took my spare (clear) pair of glasses to Texas to fully experience the details in the chromosphere and corona, both with the naked-eye and in binoculars.
