About this image

Taken over 4 nights in August.

This emission region is very similar to many other star forming regions, being carved out by the open cluster formed in its centre. There are plenty of elephant trunks / pillars and Bok globules. The small red nebula to the upper left is the reflection nebula NGC 6820.

Also in this image is Kronberger 9 a planetary discovered by amateur astronomer Matthias Kronberger in 2005 (the diffuse blue nebulosity to the top right at about 1 o'clock).
