Spectrum of the field containing Nova Tau 2026.  Field of view ~84 x 62 arc minutes. Ian Sharp (BAA + AAVSO) recorded the nova at V-Mag 8.8 at the time the spectrum was taken.

A 12A resolution  spectrum taken a day after this one is also devoid of the emission lines in previous spectra  mentioned in the ATels (except for a very narrow H alpha P Cygni profile)
