Partial Eclipse from Crowborough

About this image

Car park was almost deserted when I arrived a couple hours in advance of the start of the partial eclipse. By the time it started it was full with cars and folk being turned away. I was the only observer with a telescope so was very popular! Only minor regret is that whilst talking to folk I missed the shot with a jet going through the centre of the image about 30 minutes in! Great to see so many of all ages come out to observe the eclipse with their picnics and various observation methods and very interested in astronomy observation.

I used manual shooting with remote control all the way through until sunset. Pentax k3iii with 2x teleconverter gives me almost full frame of the solar disk.
