About this image

This planetary nebula in Aquila was discovered by William Herschel in August 1791. 

This PIRATE image shows a pale shell, with two prominent arcs, and bright central star (mag. 14.4) set amongst innumerable stars.

Apparent magnitude 12.0. Distance c.4-6,000ly. Size c.1.3ly.
