About this image

Taken when the moon had not yet risen over two nights.

Within the quintet, 4 of the 5 galaxies are interacting. NGC7318 is the twin, comprising NGC7318a and b, who are having a whale of a time.

NGC7319 and NGC7317 are gravitationally bound to this pair. NGC7320 is the more regular spiral which is closer and simply along the line-of-sight.

The smaller galaxy at 7o'clock to the quintet is NGC7320C, a candidate AGN.
