This mag.14.5 edge-on spiral galaxy in Andromeda was discovered by Edouard Stephan in September 1867. This PIRATE image shows the nucleus and disk with a dust lane faintly seen crossing the bright nucleus.

Distance c.205million ly. Size c.100-105,000 ly.
