First chance to catch Hind's this year.

The seeing was dire so I'm amazed the image was as good as this. Quite a lot of detail and Richard Sargent's shadow clearly there.

Oddly, my T Tau mags (unfiltered CCD) seem a bit high compared to other observers. Presumably it is particularly strongly reddened at the moment.

Good image Grant despite the conditions. The shadow referred to is one I have spoken about in talks to the BAA (e.g. Variable Star Section 2025 meeting Session 1 – British Astronomical Association ).From analysis of images I believe the shadow is cast by the circumbinary ring around two stars in the triple star system that makes up T Tauri. I have a draft paper nearly ready for submission for consideration for the Journal.
