Title

PV Cep & Gyulbudaghian's Variable Nebula

About this image

This nebula's appearance has been pretty stable since ~April 2025 but I wanted to see if there is still some small scale variability happening. So I made this animation from 28 one hour images taken between 2026 July 2nd and 2026 October 3rd. There is some minor variability with waves of light and dark shadow moving through the bottom part of the nebula. At the bottom there are four roughly parallel 'blocks' of nebulosity (see yellow markers in the static image to the right of animation). These have been around since April 2025.

So some small scale variability in keeping with its general stability over the last year and a half.

I've re-sized the animation because it was too small when posted here.
