Join us in September for a weekend of astronomy in Bristol

This year’s weekend event takes place on the 6th – 8th September and it is being held at Bristol Grammar School, hosted by the Bristol Astronomical Society.

The weekend starts on Friday evening 19:00 to 21:00 with Dr John Mason as guest speaker.

On Saturday reception is at 10:00 and the meeting will finish at around 17:30. Our speakers for the day are:

Mark Kidger.

In the evening (weather permitting) our hosts will be holding a star party from 20:00 to which we are all invited.

The weekend concludes with a visit to the Herschel Museum in Bath. Alternatively you could visit the planetarium at Bristol’s own Science and Discovery Centre @Bristol.

The cost for Friday and Saturday is £16 for BAA members and £20 for non-members. Accompanied children under 16 are £8.00. This cost includes tea/coffee on Friday & Saturday at registration and in the afternoon, plus a cold buffet lunch.  The cost for Sunday will be £6.00 for the Herschel Museum plus £8.00 for the coach from Bristol to Bath. We expect to depart Bristol at 10:30 with a return around 15:00.
