About this image

Every year astrophysics students from Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool are taken on an astronomy field trip to Teide Observatory on Tenerife. The field trip gives them the experience of using a 20" telescope in a professional observatory and the opportunity to take photographs of the night sky. This image of the centre of the Milky Way was taken during the 2015 field trip.
