About this image

The wonderful constellation of Orion is recognised by most people. On the 28th November, whilst the observatory was being used by students from the University of South Wales, I set up the camera to record the mighty Orion rising over the Brecon Beacons massif. and illustrate how dark the skies are in this International Dark Sky Reserve. The lights of a walker are captured just on the summit of Pen y Fan, looking like a bright star topping the mountain.
