About this image

Observations of an object while it was still mentioned on the PCCP with a 0.51-m f/4.4 telescope from the iTelescope.net network on 6 jan.2017. eleven stacked 60-s exposures show a diffuse circular coma of diameter 19" with R-magnitude 17.8 in an aperture of diameter 7".6, that i had reported to the MPC. Object was later assigned as comet C/2017 A3 (ELENIN) with CBET 4344 issued on 6 jan.2017.
