About this image

Clouds arrived near dawn this morning which made imaging Terry Lovejoy's latest (C/2017 E4) a bit of a pain. I had to wait for it to rise above my neighbour's house and then enter a clear gap between clouds. By the time it appeared the sky was very bright but I did get a 10 minute gap and the image shows the thin ion tail. This image has a FoV of approx 30 x 20 arcmin. At the time it was taken the Sun was only 13.5 deg below the horizon.

A lovely demonstration of the anatomy of a comet.
