About this image

This is my first serious observation of Venus since 1981 and on the basis of it I have rejoined the Mercury and Venus section after a very long lapse.

There is a certain amount of 'shape' in the dark area abutting the terminator with N. & S. projections towards the limb. Both cusp caps were seen with difficulty.

I'm not as skilled artistically as Paul Abel but I was pleased with the result. I'd forgotten how pleasant it is to observe in daylight.
