About this image

This comet passed through perihelion on April 11. I missed it when it was better placed.  It is now near the Hercules/Sagitta border at RA 18h 31m Dec +19 deg 06'.  To start I observed the field with the 17mm eyepiece. I was expecting something stellar and watched a candidate for 30 minutes but could not detect any motion. Switching to the 8mm eyepiece the comet was immediately revealed as a faint round mist without central brightening or nucleus. I estimate the diameter at 0’.7 and the magnitude at around 14 based on my experience viewing faint galaxies. The motion is north to south. (a) is the position at 22:35, (b) at 23.00.
