About this image

Comet P/2004 T1 Linear-Neat was recovered on June 21 as P/2017 M2 and recently was named Periodic Comet 355P. It may brighten to about magnitude 14 in October and then will fade below magnitude 20 in early 2018. After that it will return to Earth's night skies again in 2024. A 43% illuminated Moon was only 17 degrees northeast of the magnitude 19 comet when these images were taken.
